why do i sometimes get Blue screen of death while launching a game?

hello there ,first of all i wasn't sure how to categorize this question so if you think it better be on another category ,let me know.

my problem is when i launched dead island on my PC like 2 months ago a blue screen popped up ,the computer restarted and everything was fine i launched the game the second time and it opened normally .About the same thing happened 2 weeks ago ,i would've thought it could be a problem with the game itself unless it happened when i launched saints row 3 a couple of days ago (btw all my games are legit ,bought them on steam so i don't think it's a virus) ,so anyone has an idea what's up? thanks very much.

my (lame specs are : Intel Pentium e2200
radeon 6850 (latest beta driver)
3 gb of ddr2 ram
windows 7 64 bit

If the game works after the restart then..

That would mean the issue is with the gpu being a little late at powering up, (kinda like it wasn't ready yet)..

Try a different driver.
