r9 270x is more powerful.

Id agree on the 83(2/5)0 with the r9 270x. For most games its going to be the GPU that counts and you will get moderately better performance from the 270x.

This is also the setup I am building, (with the 8320), just waiting for the parts to arrive in the post... :p

It depends on the game. I see lots of Athlon x4 paired with 270x just fine.
Bottlenecks for Beginners
THW is always in need of bottleneck explanation, so here is my take on the subject matter. Your "bottleneck" will be dependent on the software you run and your display. For gaming: Your CPU handles the game engine and will be able to make a... See full content

I find it very unlikely you will have a CPU bottleneck, especially if you go for an 8350 (clocked at 4GHz) or if you overclock your 8320 (getting it from 3.5 to 4GHz shouldn't be difficult).

Even at base clock speeds this CPU performs very well. Check out these benchmarks for battlefield 4:

The difference between the 8350 and some higher end i7's is a couple of fps.

(These benchmarks are for the R9 290x but will likely reflect a similar story on the 270x)

The elephant in the room… why not the Core i5 + R9 270X?

If, oddly, that's not an option, I agree that the FX 8350 + R9 270X is a better-balanced system.

i guess the fx 8350 is cheaper , plus wouldn't it be better to get the whole system from amd ?

Doesn't really make any difference, you can pair up an ati or nvidia graphics card with either an amd or intel cpu. Any combination is fine and each component will still work in the same way.

Price-performance on the AMD FX series makes it a good option.
