Hi
I have a disorder which doesn't allow me to write properly and my hands shake when I pick up something. Also when I play shooting games(call of duty, max payne, farccry, battlefield) on my pc using a mouse and keyboard, it is hard for me to aim at the enemy. I want to buy a wrist stabilizer, Will using a wrist stabilizer help me in these tasks? I have had 3 fractures so my wrist are pretty weak. I want to know if a wrist stabilizer is the best option and will do the trick. or do I need a hand stabilizer?
Thanks

no your best bet would be to use a lower dpi mouse and keep your wrists braced. you can then use your elbow as the lever rather than your wrist.
let your wrist heal normally over time remembering to do basic rotational exercises and lifting small weights when you can.
if your wrist is physically fine and no longer broken then a wrist support/stablizer will give you more comfort while playing as well as minimizing the effect of the shacking as it will act like a damper.

i used to use a cheap gembird 1 it was a basic mousepad with a sppandex covering that had a jelly pad at the base and it worked well. very comfortable and probably the very thing you need.
http://www.gembird.com/item.aspx?id=4604 cost about 2.99-4.99 depending on where you buy it.

a wrist brace attaches around your wrist and holds it in place. a wrist stabilizer is a pad often made of jell that sits under your wrist on the desk, below or attached to the mouse pad.

my wrist is totally fine. you know it has been almost 6 years and I have got no fractures. The only thing is that when I place the cursor over something (lets say it is a little thing) the cursor seems to move/rotate around the very point of the target as if it is not stable so in this case will a brace be good for me or a stabilizer? and will it also help me with writing and using the pc mouse.

it depends on how bad the shaking is. if its a mild tremor then the stabilizer will likely help its also cheap so theres no real down side to trying 1 of the mousepads on the gembird site.

its more than you need mate but generally you would want something between 2000 and 3600 as it gives you options.
you want something that can go from 400 dpi up to what ever you want.

That's not good. Have you tried asking your doctor if it's okay for you to move that much? I mean, would movements like that or the likes contribute to the disorder you are having? I am just worried if your problem gets even worse.

Maybe you could think about doing some exercises to specifically train your wrist? I had similar problems with my ankle and it helped me to do little exercises every day to stabilize it a little.
