Building a new computer based on Core i7 4790k and would love some advice

Hi everyone, I'm planning to build a new rig based on the new Core i7 4790k, my current computer is a XPS 8300 w/ a Core i7 2600. Honestly the machine is still plenty fast to me, but the problem is with the video card, upgrading anything in this thing is more trouble then it is worth; I recently bought a 750w modular PSU to go with a R9 280 3gb, however due to the old and no longer updated bios of the Dell mobo, I can't get it to work. So my plan was to simply give the XPS to my little brother since his computer is 5-6 years old and a low end one at that, and build a new rig for myself. I'm going to be using this computer as a Plex media server so I would like it to remain on 24/7 however that is not required since I should be able wake it up remotely. I will also be doing most my gaming on this as well since I don't plan on buying a PS4/XboxOne anytime soon.

Hi did you have any problems putting Core i7-4790K into that motherboard?.. did you have to do a bios update?.. or it was ok from the start? (CPU functionallity)

Hello... i just fell short on that processor... wanted it so bad that i didnt check the support list on msi Z87-G45 Gaming motherboard. Yeah i know they have this CPU in support after the BIOS UPDATE.. but its not working properly. Half of my RAM slots WENT out. Slot 1 and 2 does not ran my ram anymore and the PC wont start), if i let 2x Corsair 4 gigs in slots 3-4 it will run but only run. After restart the PC wont start (restart properly nothing happens)..only blank. SO i can only use 8gigs and cant restart . I have to buy a new board i think. Please help me. I NEED A MOTHERBOARD THAT SUPPORTS THE DEVILS CANYON FROM THE START!!. I would like to hear from people what Motherboards you have on this CPU and what changes or updates youve done for it to work properly! THANKS a lot and i am really in lot of sorrow for that. Most of my money went on this

No problems with cpu... I updated bios just for safe...

So it was like.. you bought the CPU you just put it in.. and start the pc and installed system and everything went fine without update? Its really important to me so that i will not put anymore money to it for nothing.. DO you know anybody that has the same CPU and had no issues on other boards?.. Can you type that type of boards here so i can pick one of them.?.. Thanks a lot!
