I linksys router, even though im going through 198.168.1.1 i cant access my home page (user id and password page ) can any one

It's possible the home page address may be different. From the computer's start menu, type cmd. In the black box that appears, type ipconfig. From the figures that come up look for the default gateway. That will be the router's address and the one you need to type into your browser to bring up the home page.

after you have input your default gate way into the browser (usually 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1) then the default user name is admin and password is admin
