Hi all, new to the community and planning on building a new computer.
Having second thoughts about going with the 4670k.

My current set up is as such
CPU: i5 4670k or 4690
Motherboard: ASRock Z97 Extreme4
GPU: 2gb Radeon r9 270X
RAM: 8gb 1600
PSU: Antec Neo Eco 520C-BR 80Plus Bronze 520W (This was advised by the computer shop so open to other suggestions)

My question is would i be able to get a case/cooling system for under $200 that would make it worth choosing the 4670k over the 4690. Or I could possibly even buy a cooling system later down the track. This computer's primary use would be gaming but would like it to be handle new games even a few years from now.(No idea when i'll be able to upgrade next)
Also thoughts on the motherboard with this set up? Would it be worth the money or would i be better off getting a different one and saving the money/investing in something else?
This would be my first time overclocking,
Thanks in advance, any and all opinions will be appreciated.
Andrew

Thanks, so would you recommend just getting the 4690 and save some money. Thing with the 4670k is i can always OC later, but to get any decent clock speeds i''ll probably be looking at quite a bit extra money.

@Wendeng might see about doing that. Its probably going to cost an additional $50 or so. Might be worth the investment and i get the best of both worlds.

Do either of you have any opinions on the motherboard?

when it comes to gaming the intel is so good at stock its crazy oc can really be fun and it can really make building a pc an amazing experience but it can be trying. If your just looking to play games save your money spend more on the gpu it will make a much bigger difference.

@Wendeng i live in aus and neither of those boards are available.

@coolcole01 the price difference is only about $20 for the cpus.
I could go with the 4gb r9 270x, which is about $20 more expensive then the 2gb or do you have a better suggestion?

edit: do you have any idea of what kind of price bracket i'd be looking at for case/cooling unit to get a decent overclock(like 4-4.4)

Orite thanks for the replies you too.
Going to go with the 4670k and the radeon r9 270x.

As you said coolcole01, the 4670k should be just fine running new games even when not OC, and it leaves me the opportunity to OC in the future if i feel I'm lacking power. Although I'm going to look into getting the 4690k and depending on the price difference i may get that instead.

As for the graphics card, don't really think i can afford to get the 280, and with my motherboard I'm pretty sure it supports multiple GPUs so i can always add another one down the track. I'll have a look into seeing if i can afford the 280, seems to be an all over better GPU but as i said, probably out of budget.

Can anyone give me some good cases, $150 or less that will allow for OCing in the future.

Thanks, but unfortunately the computer shop i'm going to doesnt stock that brand. Any other suggestions.

Another question; Thoughts of using the integrated GPU of the 4670k and getting a better GPU later down the track.
