I have two choices, Cant seem to decide which to buy

OK, for my birthday , I have $250 to spend on whatever I like and I cant seem to choose , my old core 2 quad system needs a new CPU upgrade and i was thinking of getting an i5 3570k ( I have a asus maximus lga 1155 mobo) or I wanted to get audiophile headphones ( they cost around ($230). Any suggestions to help me make my choice ?

I rather faster gameplay than higher-quality audio. I doubt you'll hear a difference in audio, anyway.

I personally could care less how my games/music sound if my PC is up to par. It dosent matter to me how good games sound if I cant run them.

You aren't going to find many people on the CPU forum on Tomshardware supporting you buying headphones. Unless you have Apple Earbuds or something your are using now, definitely get the CPU.

well I mostly play on my laptop since my pc is dated ( got a gtx 480 on my pc ). Would a gtx 780 ti be good GPU upgrade ? I have a 3 1080p screens, or would a 4gb card be better ?

780Ti is the fastest single GPU card on the market, so it will do fine.
