USB Display Adapter Help

I have a GTX 550 Ti running dual monitors. I was wondering if I could use a USB display adapter to attach a third monitor just for some extended work space. If it is possible to mix these two display adapters, will I still get the same gaming performance on my initial two displays?

usb2.0 to dvi - one in, one out. What inputs have the monitors got?

I don't expect the monitor connected to the USB to DVI to play games, but will my main monitor hooked up to my GTX 550 Ti still perform as it did before?
