I already have an optical drive and some HDDs that I can salvage from my current desktop.

While I am mostly planning on using this computer for gaming, I decided to go with an i7 because I will probably do some editing of home movies since my wife keeps taking insane amounts of video of my son. Though I wasn't really sure if the differences between the i5 and i7 would be worth it just for home video editing.

I am not planning on overclocking right away, but I tried to choose components that would allow me to do so in the future if I decided I wanted to get more power out of the computer. My intention had been to just use the stock CPU cooler and buy a new cooler if/when I end up overclocking the computer.

My goal is to keep the cost of the computer under $1,500 USD, though if I end up enough under that I may finally replace my secondhand G5 mouse.

id replace the motherboard with a z97 motherboard such as the asrock z97 extreme 4 or asus z97 a . Will be more future friendly. and for home editing i dont think the i7 is worth it but thats just me.
