I´ve had this rig for about a year now and it`s been feeling like for a long time its quite heavily underperforming playing some games. I recently bought Borderlands 2 and thought it would run really smoothly on my rig but it was basicly unplayable due to low frames and heavy screen tearing. Last time i played BF3 on ultra i was having some really sketchy frames (10-25fps) and im a bit dissapointed. I rarely go around 60 fps smoothly and in most games im around 30-40 fps. Is my computer underperforming for my specs? And what could i do about it?
Really thankful for any help. (Recently updated drivers and BIOS)

My computer specs:
Graphics Card: Gigabyte AMD Radeon HD 7850s crossfired (dont know if its working as intended)
Processor: AMD FX-4100 Quad Core
Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-970A-UD3 AMD 970 chipset
PSU: Corsair CX750M (750W)

More about : feels computer heavily underperforming

Your CPU is heavily bottlenecking your GPU's. Also your board's second PCI-E slot is probably choking your second GPU. I would try just a single card, to see what your FPS looks like. To properly crossfire your GPU's, you need a better board and cpu. I would upgrade to an FX 8320 for starters. I would probably sell the GPU's and FX 4100 and get a strong single GPU.

Thanks so much for responding. Ugh, i was fearing bottlenecking might be the issue. As an unemployed teenager (heh) i am not so loaded on cash. Looking at what you just said, i think getting a new processor, gpu, and motherboard is too costly. Would keeping the GPUs and selling my motherboard and processor and then upgrading be the more cost effective solution to my problem? Or should i get rid of all of it and then start from scratch?

What GPU and motherboard would you recommend? And also, is with my current setup running one GPU more efficient? Sorry for so many questions, i am relatively new to computer building.

You can keep your current motherboard, and upgrade to an FX 8320, and bump the multiplier to match an FX 8350 speed, to start. Just change it to 20 in the bios and done. :D  Crossfire is not very efficient at times. Not all games support it, and your motherboard's 2nd slot runs at a 4x speed instead of an 8x speed you would find in a properly equipped board. That could also be causing you problems, though your CPU is the biggest problem right now.

Awesome, so i just go to bios settings and change the processor multiplier to 20? Thanks so much for your help!

Yea, that is all you have to do to make an FX 8320 match an FX 8350, and save yourself like $50 in the process. :D  I have two of them myself.
