Alright to get the best answer tailored to what I'm trying to learn I'm going to be as specific as I can so forgive if there is length attached! So here we go! I'm thinking of making the switch to PC gaming for a few reasons. Now as with mostly a good portion of older gamers, I grew up with nintendo in one hand and a juice box in the other. From NES, to the original brick sized gameboy to n64 etc. I later graduated to a ps1 (bypassing Sega and the latter history for length reasons) then naturally ps2. Passing up the Xbox since....well playstation was my history (after nintedo ofc). The natural selection afterwards would be the ps3 ofc, but not needing to remind anyone how much the ps3 was when it finally came around and the fact that I actually had to shell out some cash to pay for things and kids aren't exactly wealthy most cases (bye bye birthday/holiday savings) I had to settle for a used xbox360. Now not being all hardware savvy it didn't really phase me, (although out of my history element) cause hey I made my 1st big purchase (even though moms still shelled out most xD). Grew into the whole Xbox being my new history (plus sooner or later ps3 would get price cuts so). Anywho next gen (at that time) blew me away so I was content and happy. Until that fateful day.....the legendary RRD. Kinda broke my spirit for consoles (but not having throw money in the air funds) had only one outlet for games. The old dell family PC. Now note I have gamed before on it but not worthy of mentioning beforehand in the story. With no other option I grew into it. Although not a powerhouse it was sufficient for most MMOs, flash games, plus discovered design, free movies etc, long list. Stayed on it for a yr or two getting by on the terrible hardware but eh had a grand time. Anywho later got a xbox 360 s for Christmas and welp was free so played it happily (even with that RRD in the back of my mind). Now here we are with next gen here and I'm kinda stuck at this crossroad. I have funds to invest in any paths open but I'm not sure what to do! Tbh while writing this out I'm kinda more leaning towards PC cause of the memories but it ofc had hassles and that didn't even include prices for hardware and compatibility etc since I used what I had. I'm truly torn cause I have had long yrs with each and every brand and have fond memories of each. Plus I have outgrown the console wars and completely tired of it! PC seems more like the middleman~the grandfather of it all (imo!) No actual brand loyalty, just there. But it can be expensive and experienced as I am, I'm also cheap as fudge. Should I just move to PC? And more importantly can anyone actually assist me in building one, if the descion for it goes forward? Pre made has its perks but if I can squeeze out even a dollar and learn stuff along the way, I'm all for assembling one.

Once again apologies for the length, just wanted to make it blind eye apparent I have love and a hand in it all and am thankful how it all turned out (plus I get out of hand at times...). Hope I get some actually help cause tried looking all this stuff up but my computer days are well behind me so I'm fully out of touch....was never that much in touch now that I think about it.....even more so a reason to get help. Also! no I won't buy them all cause I have also calmed down a bit compared to my olden days of living and breathing gaming so would be too much for me.

Just to get a decent gaming pc it would come to around $500.

If you follow the format above, that would give us a start to help you find the right pc.

Building your own PC is great if you believe you can do it, and it should save you some money too. Also the parts you get if you build your own will be better than a prebuilt.

There are lots of memories to be made with pc gaming, just find a group of buddies to game with and get teamspeak
