DD3 RAM for laptop. Please help me..

I am new to PC gaming and I just bought a Compaq Presario CQ57. I has a Intel Core i3, 4gb ram and 500 gb hdd. Everything is fine but the ram is bothering me.

I searched on the manufacturer's website but I didn't found any identical product.

Please confirm that if I put an extra 4GB ram of any other company will it work or not?

First thing is first, what is the exact model number of your laptop? CQ57 is the series number... check for the exact model number or HP product number (eg RQ768AA#ABA) either using the HP assistant or check under the laptop or inside the battery compartment.

My laptop is Presario CQ57-490se and the processor is Intel® Core™ i3-2310M Processor
(3M Cache, 2.10 GHz). The RAM is of Micron Technology
