Motherboard chipset drivers necessary?

I've done a clean install of windows 7 on a freshly formatted had drive. I've just started to install a few programs that came on my motherboard DVD ( asus p7p55dpro) and there's an option to install intel chipset drivers. I'm just wondering if it's a good idea to install those, even though the system seems to be running ok. Thanks. My cpu is a intel i7870 if that makes a difference.

Best if you install the most recent versions of drivers and for your MB that can be found here:
