Hello there guys!
I am eventually hoping to buy a new computer to game, record, stream, and do mod reviews for Skyrim on.
Lemme show you what I use now and why I really need to upgrade.
I currently use this laptop...and it can barely run Skyrim without mods, so I really wanna upgrade to something that can do this. However, I am also saving money for a new guitar so I don't know how to choose between these two, because I love them both a lot.
Here is my current laptop: http://www.toshiba.com/us/computers/laptops/satellite/L750/L755-S5257
I got it for Christmas a few years ago, but it doesn't really suit my needs much more.
I want something a little more silent, this thing sounds like a leaf blower.
Also I want to run most games at decent settings that are worthy enough to be recorded or screenshotted for videos.
I don't know how much I would want to spend, because I have saved almost enough money to buy my guitar, and once I buy that, I will have to save for a new computer, and this will take forever...
So please help me out here guys, I would really appreciate it. By the way if you were curious, the guitar I am talking about is this: http://www.guitarcenter.com/epiphone-Les-Paul-Standard-Plain-Top-Electric-Guitar-100237216-i1320937.gc

Thanks in advance!

I'd say grab the guitar first since a gaming system would cost a bit more money. You are usually looking at around $600 without OS ($100) or monitor for a good system. That is if you were looking to build a desktop pc yourself. If you wanted a laptop for gaming it would be more expensive.

I would go for the guitar first since it would be easier to get first.

That was my idea as well. Does anyone think they can build a decent system that will do all I need for around 1500$ then? If you could build it to my specs that would be great. Oh also, OS and Monitor should be included, I will be building this desktop myself

Budget build including monitor, keyboard, speakers, and windows 7. Would be able to run skyrim MUCH better than your leaf blower.

What's your source of income? And it seems that buying the guitar is higher priority for you. But it'd be easier to suggest builds if we had more information. How much money can you see yourself spending on a computer? Do you need a monitor/keyboard/mouse/speakers/operating system?

Yes, what exactly are you trying to accomplish with this thread? If you won't be buying a gaming computer for a while then you might as well come back when you're ready to buy. Computer technology changes very fast. What I suggest using in a build today will most likely change in a month from now. It will certainly change 6 months from now.

Please include all the information from the *How to Ask for New Build or Upgrade Advice* sticky so we can stop spinning our wheels and accomplish something in this thread.

I currently don't have a job, and I am trying hard to find one at current. However I do simple chores like cutting the lawn and other things around the house to get money. This will do in order to get the guitar, but I will need a job if I want to build a computer. This is also the setup I had made for myself. I know it has WAY too many fans, I am working on that. Also some of the merchants are not the ones I would use, but this is probably the maximum I would be willing to spend in order to achieve silence and power.
