Hello,
I am currently working on picking the parts for my custom PC which will be used primarily for computer gaming. My current total for all of my parts is 1350. Now, this seems rather expensive for my first build, even for hardcore gaming. I was wondering If I could list my parts for you all and you could point out areas where there is a cheaper alternative or where I may be getting something that is unnecessary. In addition to general comments about my build. Without further ado...

I would get the i7 4790k (if you ever want to oc if not just get the 4770)
Change the graphics card to the 4gb version just in case you ever upgrade your monitor(s)
Don't use that power supply this one will work much better and be upgrade proof:

Good build, I too would go ahead and get the K model CPU, even if you don't want to OC now, down the road it's like a free CPU upgrade, and the Hero OCs very easily, the BIOS can tune an OC for you to 4.2, 4.4, 4.6 (above that is manual ;) I'm playing w/ my Z97 Hero now, still deciding on the rest of the components but it OCs better than my Z87 Hero (in sig), run cooler, and handles DRAM better. Would reconsider the PSU, the entry level CX PSUs are iffy, might look at the SeaSonic 620
