How good is the 780 Ti actually?

So I was watching some gameplays with maxed settings the other day and a question came to my mind.

I know the 780 Ti is one of the best cards on the current market but, how good is it actually?
Is there a game that the card can't max out at 1080p?
And if there isn't, until which resolution will the card be able to max a game's settings before having to consider SLI?

Hi,

maxing out at 1080p is not a problem, but keeping the fps may be for certain un-optimised games.

If you SLI them...well 1440p should be your resolution.

Cheers.

The GTX 780 ti can max any game at 1080p currently with no frame drops. The only exception to this is if you use some very new insane Anti-Aliasing settings on 2014 games, you have to SLI or Crossfire then.

But that should be fixed with game optimizations later right? Or is it really that insane?

No, I'm talking about things so high end you literaly have to have 2 GPUs to work it. http://www.nvidia.com/object/slizone_sliAA_howto1.html
Then there is the just radically powerful new Temporal anti-aliasing(TXAA), which will still probably be good on the 780 ti.

Yes it can ..and cannot...
Maxing out depends on the resolution and graphical setting set then individual games.

The Witcher 2 with full settings and Ubersampling enabled has always been the holy grail of the current crop of games. I'm running that at about 40+ FPS, smoothly. Yes, the GTX 780 Ti is as good as advertised.

with 2 GTX 780 TIs you can max most games out now even in 4K res. and at 1440p you can max every game and games to come for awhile. And when I say max i mean like 60 frames. It will take a few years to bring 2 GTX 780TIs below 60 fps. And even then games are playable down to 30. So that would be a long term machine there

BF4, Ghosts, tomb raider and ....isk isk watch dogs will not run at consistently 60hz at 4k max setting with 780ti SLI. Maaayyybbbeee with 3 way SLI.
