My friend is upgrading his pc to play war thunder, sadly he has a very old rig, and is trying to buy the components listed as recommended sys req!

Game debate recommends a Core 2 duo E6600, and a GeForce GTX 460!

My friends current specs are

Pentium 531 HT 3.00 GHz
Radeon HD 4350 (must be the worst card i have seen)
2 Gb Ram
Motherboard G41C Biostar
Power supply very weak, probably need to obtain a 450W for the GTX 460!

Is it even possible to upgrade his rig to the specs given by game debate?
Im new to these forums, forgive me if i made mistakes!
Thanks in advance for your help!

I couldn't find the biostar board you mentioned although there is an ASRock board that is G41C which supports Core 2 Quad. If he can upgrade to a Core 2 Quad on his board, I'd suggest that, 4GB RAM, and a new PSU.

Used Q6600's can be found on ebay for around $50-60

Thanks for the reply! Do you know a good alternative for the geforce GTX460, somebody told me its pretty old and that it consumes much power?

I'm not sure of the pricing on the GTX460, but you can look into the 640-740's which are around $75-130.

i.e.

If you double check on the motherboard you can see how far of a Core 2 Quad you can get as the q6600 is the middle range..and you can go up to a q9900 or whatever.

Also helps to know what type of budget we're working with here. Him upgrading to 4GB or RAM at the minimum is also a must.

I'm not familiar with that game, but you might want to just look at an upgrade that is a bit more modern...again I don't know what budget constraints you're working with.
