I was looking for PS4 and just saw this listing. I'm so confused, this guy is asking for donations on eBay so that he can buy a PS4. Has someone done this before or just that guy is stupid?

Yup, that's an idiot. Now to figure out what to report it as...

You say he's an idiot until he gets a free PS4. Although he totally won't. Because that is an awful plan. But, good luck to him!

Well, not idiot so much as doesn't realise what ebay is for.

Given that any buyer who thought they were getting a PS4 would be raising a dispute with ebay the moment he says "thanks for the money, I'll go off and buy my PS4 now", it's probably not going to work.

its begging for money and borderline scamming and i'm sure that is against the ebay TOS.

it needs to be reported and taken down.

I did report it...

Wasn't quite sure what to report it as, though, and they didn't give any field to stick reasons in beyond drop-down boxes. I think I ended up going for something along the lines of 'Seller does not have object in hand'.

I've been reporting these ads for weeks. I have no idea if they get taken down or suspended or anything. I've been reporting as Listing issue then Other Listing problem then Charity and fundraising. As it is not in accordance with the Ebay TOS for charitatable donations. Must be a recognized charity or other specific circumstances they list.

So crazy, these people like have more than one account as the descriptions are all nearly identical one liners saying they are going through hard times and want to buy their kid a ps4. I can't seem to find anything on Google about this matter except this forum and one on Reddit. Do you think this means that the bids I see on these ads are people actually donating with knowledge and not being scammed?
