I just got out of my bed and I hit against my computer table pretty hard and knocked about a half full cup of water, Some of it went into the top of my computer and dripped down inside, But only a small amount of water has went over some of my components because I was fast enough to open it up and stuff a cloth inside to stop the rest from dripping. The PC wasn't turned on and I haven't turned it on, Going to leave it for about 2-3 days for things to dry up.

What's the odds of a PC surviving this ;3? If all things turn bad is there any possible way that I can get data from a raid 0 PC with windows 7 installed onto a non raid windows 8 system?

Well. It depends what got hit by the water. I would say try to turn it on, mainly because if it was damaged it would be apparent, if it hasnt been yet, it dosent need to dry more.

The chances vary greatly. I know of someone who did this, and the water literally missed every component on the way down, and went though the case fan at the bottom. Only the fan was harmed. Others have done this, and it hit a moving fan, complete loss. Visually inspect the system, see where it was hit if you can.

Data wise, you can simply plug both drives into win8, set them to raid, and use the other original drive to boot. (if they still work)

You may even have damaged it by putting a cloth inside .

But there is hope . Leave it open and put it somewhere warm and dry .

Well I've tried turning it on and sadly it wont power on, So I guess damage has been done =(. Now to try and get my data from a Raid 0 into my non raid PC ;[. I could do what Gam suggested but is there other ways?
