Heavy stuttering and overheat

I've been playing red orchestra 2 for about a month with no stuttering and yesterday my Gpu started to overheat as soon as i got ingame, The fans sped up and then the monitor blackscreened, I had to reboot. I downloaded Afterburner to control my fans better. I prevented overheat but i still get stuttering.

Specs
OS: Windows 8.1 64-bit
GPU: GTX 660 Ti
CPU: i7-2700K 3.50GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.5GHz

Those specs were the only info i had.

Hmm, not sure but is RO2 supported by geforce xp? Try using it to optimize the settings before starting the game. Hows the air-flow in your case?

The air-flow is good, I have the standard fan. I'll try to optimise the game.
