What should i get? I'm a gamer on 1440p monitor!

Nice rig, I'd go with the 780 (and the Asus is a great one) have a pair of them (in sig), right now I have them split up between my Z87 and a Z97, but in SLI it was easy to do a 25% OC and have each at about 30% in single card mode

but should not i got r9 290 for 4gb vram?or 3gb is enough?because my friend told me that 3gb is not enough for 1440p gaming!
