If I could get an EVGA GTX 570 for ~$70, do you think it would be worth it? I'm on a tight budget for a new video card, and my XFX R7 260X just died recently.
Or would that be a waste, since the GTX 570 only has 1.25 GB of VRAM?
I've seen 2.5 GB versions out there, so would that make a difference with its performance?
I mostly play PlanetSide 2, Battlefield 3/4, and Minecraft, all @ 1080p.
(Sorry for all the questions!)
My specs are posted in my signature.

What would it be equivalent to in the 700 series NVIDIA GPUs?

Once you get into the 700 Series it's all about the models. The 780 is my personal fave, but also quite pricey. With your budget I would give the 570 a shot it is a great overall gpu.

a very rough equivalent would be the 750ti. But its not really comparable because of changes in architecture and various other factors; vram, power consumption, etc . If you are 100% sure the card is fully functioning (ie you are buying from someone you personally know) then that seems like a reasonable deal.

1.25 GB of Vram is going to be an issue if you plan on playing at 1080p though, you will probably run into instances where you need to reduce texture quality to achieve playability. But with a $70gpu you will always have to make some compromises.

I am always extremely cautious when dealing with used PC parts. Do not trust people, especially if the deal seems really good. But if you are positive its legit, I don't think you could find a new card that is more powerful for $70.

It's a bit weaker than the GTX 760 but still a good deal stronger than the 750ti.
