More about video card upgrade asus p5n
  1. Your board has a conventional PCIe x16 2.0 slot. It can use any PCIe x16 gfx card.

But I'd update the board's BIOS to the latest version just in case. Some older BIOSs have trouble recognizing the newest cards.

    Thank you.
Would a video card like this be a good upgrade: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130792
Looking at my present video card EVGA 8800GT the one from Newegg looks like a cutdown version. Wondering if this card is just a minor upgrade.
  3. It's not even an upgrade, actually a total downgrade: http://gpuboss.com/gpus/GeForce-GT-8800-vs-GeForce-GT-630
Is $60 your budget limit? Let me know and I will help you pick out the best bang for the buck. Is this for gaming?

Too late. I already bought an EVGA GT640 dual. I did a compare using the site you used and it does look like it's a step up.
Many thanks for sharing that site with me.
  5. At least with the GT 640, you got a tiny upgrade as opposed to a downgrade ;-)
