Hi,

I'm pretty new to this so please allow my lack of knowledge. From what I've read on the internet and various articles it seems to be possible to create a wifi network with a range coverage up to 1 to 1,2 miles (good antennas, strong signal emitter) with no direct line of sight.

To increase the range, line of sight is required.

I now got this request which:
- They want to extend the range to 3.5 miles in a radius of .

Setup:
- 2 point connection
- No line of sight
- Data transfer rate min 50kb/s (the more the better)
- Currently the price of such an infrastructure is not important

I've seen setups with "Walkie/Talkies" but the data rate is very low.

Hope anyone can help me,
Jeppen

We are talking about suburb and country (possible trees and/or height difference about 50-100 meters).
The base station may not be situated at the highest Point.

Well that is going to be tough. I would mount the radios as high as possible. If you can mount the antenna outdoors then you could try something like the Ubiquiti PBE-M2-400. There is no guarantee it will work, or even link up without line of site. It is a 2.4Ghz radio, but I think you have a much better possibility of getting a link on the 2.4Ghz band as opposed to the 5Ghz band.
