Should I upgrade my AM3+ cpu or get a motherboard cpu combo?

Hey guys!

I currently have a AM3+ motherboard with a FX 6100. I have been having issues for some time now and I am looking for an upgrade. I was thinking about the FX 8350 but a lot of people are saying how heavily it relies on over clocking to hold it's good name. I do not overclock my processors but I could in the future even though I would prefer not to.

If that doesn't work out I was thinking about getting a new motherboard with a new processor. I have a budget of $300 or less. All I want is a processor that performs better than my current FX 6100. And if someone recommends a new motherboard I want it to be pretty future proof so i won't have to change it any time soon.

I've got the CPU right below that: The FX-8320. And I'll tell you, whether or not I overclock, my r9 290 is not bottlenecked much at all, if at all. So, a FX-8350 would serve you well, no doubt.

The best rated CPU'S for this month in the $125 to 200 range are the I3-4130 at $125 and the i5-4590 at $199. That would leave a budget of $100 -175 for a LGA1150 motherboard.

Would it bottleneck my GTX 760? That is the reason why I am upgrading anyways.

no it will not bottle neck a 760 but in poorly threaded games it will not do as good as an intel chip
