Looking to play games on high/max settings. Games would include Fallout 3/New Vegas, Borderlands 1/2, Skyrim, Minecraft, etc. I'm a former console player looking to make the switch and this would be my first build. I dream of a day where I can play these games without ridiculous load times. I think I've done a pretty good job with my research, this site was a lifesaver. I know I'll have to upgrade my gpu eventually to keep up with the "next gen" but right now this build price is affordable and I plan on playing the games I listed for a long time. I mean who doesn't like Fallout? All feedback is appreciated! Thank you!

You will be fine for those games for sure. If not overclocking, go with an H97 motherboard. You will get more features for your money since they don't have to put expensive overclocking capable parts on it.

Sorry for the late responses. I thought Corsair made reliable power supplies, is it just that particular model of Corsairs that aren't reliable? I'm not going to be overclocking, is there a H97 mobo you would recommend? Motherboards seem to be the hardest things for me to understand.

for oc i will recommend z or p series motherboard and corsair is a good brand gs,rm,tx,ax series from corsair are good and reliable psu..

This is a good motherboard for right around the same price as the Z board you have currently in your build: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157511&cm_re=asrock_h97-_-13-157-511-_-Product

With the corsair PSUs, it is just those very bottom line CX models that are risky. They are very cheap because they are very cheaply made. Any seasonic, or XFX PSU will be very reliable and will deliver the power they claim it will.

I recommend this one if you don't care about it not being modular (modular will cost around $20 more): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?SID=6fbc52834cb64689b8a92309f5579592&AID=10440897&PID=1225267&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-cables-_-na-_-na&Item=N82E16817207013&cm_sp=

Thanks so much guys, I think I'll be going with the suggestions! If I didn't have to buy a monitor, keyboard, mouse, and headphones this would be under a $1000 but that's okay. The rig itself seems really solid for what I want to do and I can't argue with the price it totaled up to. Here is the newest build: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/WarEagle/saved/RGn8TW

Get this 760, it is only $209 with the rebate and the promo code EMCPCWW24: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121775&nm_mc=EMC-IGNEFL071114&cm_mmc=EMC-IGNEFL071114-_-EMC-071114-Index-_-DesktopGraphicsVideoCards-_-14121775-L0C

This build should last you a good while and should serve you well. Better to build right the first time, then have to make up for corners cut later on. Enjoy it!
