Hi guys!

Finally I have chosen all components for my first build and I'm planning to order it next week. I would like to hear your opinion about it, maybe some suggestions. I have a small question regarding SSD for the system, would it be enough for the future? Because my friend has SSD with the same capacity and he says that almost 60% are free (Windows 7 x64). As well I have questiong about RAM overclock, but I will make another thread about it or if you know some guide about it, please post a link.

Case: Corsair Obsidian Series 550D
MB: Asus Maximus VII Hero
CPU: Procesors Intel Core i7-4790K, Quad Core, 4.00GHz Changed to Procesors Intel Core i5-4690K, Quad Core, 3.50GHz
CPU Cooler: Corsair H110
GPU: Asus GTX 780 Ti DirectCU II OC (planning to go SLI in future)
RAM: Corsair Vengeance Black 16GB (2x8GB) 2400MHz CL10 1.65V
OD: Asus Blu-ray Combo 12x SATA Retail BC-12D2HT/BLK/G/AS
SSD: Samsung SSD 840 EVO 120GB (For Windows 7 x64, maybe some software and drivers)
SSD: Samsung SSD 840 EVO 500GB (Games, Videos and stuff) Changed to Western Digital Caviar Blue WD10EZEX 1TB
PSU: Evga SuperNOVA NEX1000 80Plus Gold, modular - 1000W

Looks good. However, Instead of getting a i7, get a i5 as in my experience, they are more optimized for gaming. Additionally, instead of getting two SSD's. Get a 500gb HDD instead, they are more powerful and less likely to get worn out quickly!

Hope I helped!

You sure that for gaming, etc. HDD would be better? In the beginning was planning to get 1TB, but now I switched to SSD because of the speed. i5? would it be enough in the future when I'll upgrade 780Ti to SLI?

Yes. It would suffice. i7 is optimized for video rendering etc.. and you only need 1 SSD for windows and a few programs/games. If you have a second SSD instead of a HDD you have a medium risk of loosing all your data and overall, it would get very slow.

@MrCombatTurtle

Thanks for the advises! I'll go for i5-4690k, but regarding HDD - which one would you recommend?

WD 500gb VelociRaptor
WD 500gb Caviar Black

or maybe RE series?

The only difference between an SSD and HDD for gaming is load times, not fps. combat turtle is right, an i7 is overkill for gaming right now and you could save some dollars on the CPU if you want to, with very little impact on gaming performance.

For the second HDD I'd recommend one of these two:

Not 500GB? I heard they perform better and to be honest I don't need that much space. Are they good? Seems like they are the cheapest HDDs

Between 500GB and 1TB I will choose 1TB, they are almost the same price.

But what about Caviar black or VelociRaptor? I have read that they are the best on the market.

By all means get the caviar black if you like, but getting a raptor to go with your SSD is overkill imo. The blue + SSD combo works well enough though :)
