Should I be getting more performance out of my laptop? How good should I be able to run watchdogs?

Here's my specs

intel core i7-4500u 1.8 Ghz

8 GB of ram

nvidea geforce 740m

Running league of legends on max settings I get an average of 50 fps but it drops down to 40 or even high 30s in team fights. When seeing this I was a little disappointed thinking that my laptop could do better. I could lower the settings a tad I guess lol but still.

I bought watchdogs after researching and reading online peoples comments about their specs for this game. And a few people with my same gpu and cpu said they could run it on medium settings.

I did run a test on canyourunit and it said I couldn't but I questioned the accuracy of that site because I knew for a fact that atleast my gpu was good enough to run this game but it still fails my gpu?

Anyways I can run this game but pretty much with everything on lowest settings at a 1260x600 resolution with 28-45 fps. If I run it on fullscreen mode i never get 40 . Now is that even considered playable by most?

Playable is subjectively different. I, for one, consider anything lower than 50 fps unplayable, but a relative of mine has that bar set for 30 fps.

Anyway, a 740 isn't exactly a powerhouse, especially the mobile one, and watch dogs is one hell of an unoptimized game, as even dual gpus fail to run it maxed out 1080p@60hz constantly over or at 60 fps.
As for all I know, they do share the chipset with their desktop counterparts, but they're usually underpowered versions configured for energy savings.
Also, laptops usually have some sort of software switch into the gpu's control panel which instructs which of the two gpus the pc should use, whether it's the integrated one or the external one. I suggest you also give a look to that if you haven't already.
