Hi Guys,

So I'm looking at setting up a website design/development business as a side income. I'm not sure how much I should charge for a website design and 24/7 website management.

I don't know whether to have packages or pay-per-hour rates.

Cheers,

Callum

There are too many variables, Is it static site? or a dynamic site? do you have to purchase images for use? as far as management goes what does it include? Is is an e-commerce site with a large product library? An information site that doesn't change regularly etc, etc, etc

A simple information site (up to 5-10 pages) that doesn't change, I myself charge just a flat cost since once its built basically its built.

E-commerce sites with products, or a constantly changing site I typically charge an hourly rate.

Best answer: case by case basis, depending on your services and what is included. A suggestion for the information site is a flat rate to build then a small monthly for upkeep.

I personally don't believe there is a blanket answer for this since the needs are on a case by case basis
