Android Maps trying to connect to non-google hosts Tags: Google Networking Devices Connection Android Firewalls Last response: July 12, 2014 11:50 AM in Networking Share jagaray July 12, 2014 10:38:50 AM I recently installed NoRoot firewall in my Android device to get more control over network traffic. Now I see suspicious attempts to connect from the Android Maps application to other hosts in the network on port 443, none of them Google servers. These hosts are other clients on my same ISP subnet. Or if you phone is rooted go to system/etc/ using any root explorer and delete "hosts" file.
