I am building a PC with Intel 4670K, MSI Z97 Gaming 7, and the Asus R9 280X DC2. I am a bit confused regarding a low profile memory kit. Which one of the two listed below is a better choice in terms of performance, future system upgrade, overclocking and system stability?

1. Gskill Ares F3-2133C10D-16GAB RAM (2x8GB)
2. Gskill Ares F3-2133C9Q-16GAB (4x4GB).

The difference in cost is negligible.

As you can see, they don't. Hence the question.

I know that the 2X8GB is better when everything else is similar. As it happens, the 2X8GB is CL10 while the quad channel kit is CL9. Will the performance gain from less lanes to fill be enough to cancel out the slower CAS?
