This is my first attempt at building a PC and it's been a bit stressful and I'm not sure what I'm doing, however I think I've settled on a build that I believe has some decent future-proofing to it. My main question is whether or not everything you guys see in the list is compatible with each other and of course if you guys have an opinions on different parts I can get. I'm hoping to make it a great gaming machine as well as a great 3d modeling/ video rendering PC. Let me know what you guys think!

The rig is a beast, however i would change the 4770k for 4790k. Maybe a radeon card since they are better at this moment. An R9 for example. Also i would get a higher psu for no reason. i dont feel like being on edge with psu requirments. Having extra is always nice.

Here are my suggestions:
Forget the ASUS Maximus VI and wait for the Z97 version (VII), this also leads on to the SSD suggestion...
Do you NEED 500GB SSD? Especially as you are getting such a large storage drive, otherwise I would say go for 250GB to save some cash. Either way, I would go for the M.2 versions of any SSD you get as they are much smaller and are quite a bit faster even like for like (Samsung 250GB EVO SATAIII v Samsung 250GB EVO M.2 for example).
I agree with the above regarding the 4790K, but I disagree regarding the PSU. 650W is fine for even a dual GPU system although I would go with a different make, such as a Corsair PSU.
When it comes to HDDs, stay away from Seagate, they have extremely high failure rates and there are many online comparisons to show this.

i cant figure out how u made the conclusion that mSATA is m.2. Its a different slot and different size. There is no m.2 evo, there is however mSATA. m.2 is thinner and smaller.

In details
Width (mm) mSata 30 / m.2 22
Length (mm) mSata 50.95 / m.2 30, 42, 60, 80, 110
PCB Space - L x W (mm) mSata 1528.5 / m.2 660, 924, 1320, 1760, 2420
