Repair or replace Acer X241W monitor?

The monitor display is black but if i shine a flashlight I can see the display very dimly. I have a Dell U2711 as my main monitor and I was using the Acer for dual display.

Purchased the acer in 2007 so it's old but has been a good monitor.

Would really like to get another Dell or 2560x1440 display eventually but would it be more cost effective in the short term to get the Acer repaired?

I have looked at the board and didn't notice any bad caps although I am sure there must be some for the back light to stop working.

Any suggestions?

Unless you repair it yourself, and get it right the first time, is won't be worth it.

It is probably the back light, but you won't know til you try to replace it.

7 years is good for a monitor, these days.
