Hey all,

I've built a large number of computers since the 90s. Parts are in the mail for the new rig so I was posting to ask for any tips or hints. I know the SSD will perform best on the Intel chipset SATA controller. Not sure if there is anything else I need to pay attention to :D I should probably put the SATA Hard Drives / DVD burner on another channel and keep the SSD on the Intel by itself? It's the little minutia tips that might greatly enhance or hinder performance that I'm looking for.

i7-4790k
Phanteks PH-TC14PE Black
Asus Z97-A
16GB - 2 x 8GB G.Skill Ripjaws X DDR3 2400
Sapphire Tri-X OC Radeon R9 290
256GB Plextor M6S
2 x 500GB WD Black (previous build)
1 x 1TB WD Black (previous build)
Lian-Li Lancool PC-K62 (previous build)
Corsair HX750 (previous build)

I expect this system to scream. This is my first SSD experience. I normally have run RAID configurations since the late 90s.

Regards,

Brian

Thanks for the responses! I'm just gaming at 1080p on my 65" display so I didn't feel the need to press the graphics issue too much. I was able to 3d game with my old 6950 @ 1080p so I think this should suit my purposes well.

Any other build tips or config stuff I should pay attention to?

Regards,

Brian

Looks clean. You will have an insane boost to performance. You should now be able to max out any games no problem.
