Hey!

I am currently looking to buy a new gaming laptop (should be 15" and must be able to run the 'new' games pretty smoothly)

These are the ones I've looked at so far:

MSI GP60 Leopard-009
15.6" FHD Matte
Intel® i7-4700HQ
NVIDIA® GeForce GT 840M GDDR3 (2.0GB) w/ Optimus™ Technology
8GB Ram
750GB 7200RPM Hard Drive
1 Detachable 2.5" 9.5mm (H) SATA Hard Disk Drive
Price: $999

LENOVO Y510p (313)
15.6" FHD Matte
2 x NVIDIA® GT 750M [2GB]
Intel® i7-4700MQ
8,192MB DDR3 1600MHz
1,000GB (1TB) 5400RPM Hard Drive
1 Detachable 2.5" 9.5mm (H) SATA Hard Disk Drive
Price: $1069

SAGER NP7358
15.6" FHD Matte
Intel® i7-4710MQ
NVIDIA® GTX 860M [2GB]
8,192MB (8GB) DDR3 1600MHz
750GB 7200RPM Hard Drive
2 Detachable 2.5" 9.5mm (H) SATA Hard Disk Drives + 1 x Open mSATA
Raid 0/1 Supported
Price: $969

Are these picks any good? Or can you recommend anything better?

Please note, that they can be customized, so feel free to share your opinions about the specific hardware.

Thanks in advance.

The only downside to the Lenovo is the slow primary HD which you will want to upgrade to a low cost SSD later on like a Crucial MX100 or something similar. Otherwise I'd say go for the Lenovo over the other two.

Do you intend on gaming mobile? Have you had a gaming laptop before? These questions are not meant to be sarcastic. It may be just me, but I would not spend THAT much money (unless I literally just had it to spend and already had a power gaming desktop) on a gaming LAPTOP.

With that budget I would build a gaming desktop so that I could upgrade freely for years to come. IMHO :)

Also, laptops get hot and you would have to play on it with the battery OUT and the DC power plugged in to get the maximum performance out of it. With a desktop PC, your case cooling system will allow you to game on high all the time.

Some laptops you can't remove the battery. I can't on mine and I'm still able to get somewhat decent performance playing games like Borderlands and so on on my PC.
