refresh rate and response time

Hello everyone.. i need some help to understand what is better.. i am building a high end pc mostly for games and i have some issues about the monitor.. i am between 2 monitors..the asus pb287q 4k 1ms and i think at 60hz and the second one is the asus rog swift 2560x1440 1ms and 144hz.. which should i choose? does the refresh rate matters so much so i dont pick the 4k or is it just to make people want to buy the ''fastest''?

go with the 4k one if you GPU can handle it

the refresh rate is basically your max FPS that your monitor can show so 60Hz is 60FPS 144Hz is 144FPS
