I currently have a 240w PSU and these numbers are shown on the sticker:

+5.08v ------17A

+3.33v ------15A

+12.0v ------7.5A

+12.0v cpu ------11.5A

-12.0v -------0.15A

+5.08 aux -------3.0A

First off, what do they mean? second of all by looking at these numbers and knowing the wattage do you know how many amps/ volts it has?
I need to know this because I am getting a new graphics card (It is on it's way) it is the Zotac GT 630 2GB Zone Edition. Somebody told me that it only takes 25w of power but I should know how many amps/volts it takes so I know if it is compatible with this graphic card or not.

Do you need any more information from my power supply?

Thanks, Please reply ASAP

thanks

At some pint in time in school we learn a few formulas we should have with us for the rest of our lives.

Eg. Time x Speed = Distance or Watts = Amps x Volts

If you remembered the last formula, you would have been able to calculate that you need 2.08 Amp at 12 Volt to supply 25 Watts.

It would seem that you have a power supply with 2 rails that are capable of providing sufficient power. But I'd be leery of a 240W power supply at the best of times.

You actually dont need to worry about the Amps vs watts with that card.
The 630 does only draw 25W, which it draws from the PCI lane that can supply up to 75w.

But AmpsxVolts is the easiest way to figure it out. (its under 5)
Note that this is on the 12v rail, which with the info provided, supports up to 7.5 amps.
