Both the xfx and corsair are made by seasonic, top notch PSUs. They also both run the hybrid "fanless" mode at lower power draw.

Are you considering sli at a later date? You really only need a good 650W PSU like this one for that system:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/XFX-Edition-Bronze-Semi-Modular-Supply/dp/B008O50WKG/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1405944382&sr=1-1&keywords=xfx+650w

Though if the fanless option is appealing to you, you might go with one of your first choices.

Keep in mind that most power supplies run optimally at around 80% load. So if you went with the 750w/850W PSU, it might run quiet and without the fan most of the time, but it also might not run quite as optimally because the PSU is a bit oversized.

Either way you really can't go wrong buying a good PSU. If you are going to sli later, get the 850, otherwise a good quality 650W or bigger is plenty.

I see thanks for the insight, any comment on the EVGA supernova G2 750W? Are EVGA reputable for their power supplies?

From my reading, people that know more about PSUs than I do claim some of the EVGA Supernova series are very high quality. To be clear, some are high quality, some are not as high quality. This is typical from companies that do not actually manufacture PSUs (such as Corsair), but rather rel-label someone else's product.

Per this review, I would say that is a high quality PSU:

Excellent. Also the fact the XFX is 850W and the Corsair is 760W, both are the same price is there any reason to pick on over the other? also I see the EVGA SuperNova G2 1000W on the tier 1 list, but not the 750W, so I assume they are not in the same ballpark?

With the EVGA G2 being £30 cheaper I'm more inclined towards it, you think it will still be reliable in comparison?

my only complaint about the G2 series is the cables..they feel kinda cheap and I wasn't about to spend $90 on their sleeved cable set..but overall its a kick ass powersupply and the 10 year warranty gives you piece of mind. EVGA support is top notch too.
