Can you please elaborate? I can't understand it exactly.. Suppose person A is posting a question and there are about 20 replies from Person B, C and D.. What if,
1) A selects B's answer as best and person C or D unselects that and pick their own answers as best solution?
2) Before A can select the required solution as best, one among the B, C or D chooses other's solution as best?

Also, for example, while I'm answering a thread and we have a conversation of Q&A, then I'm giving a solution, after that the questioner asks "will it work without problems?", I reply "yes, sure" and he selects "Yes, sure" as best answer.. Can I now unselect this answer and pick another direct answer of as the best?

(ACCORDING TO ME, if the answer contains texts about Graphics card, ASUS, etc gives the best answered person a badge of that field"??) - I guess I'm right... :/

You cannot pick your own answers as the solution.

Badges are awarded based on the tags at the top of the thread - it makes no difference which of your posts in the thread was selected.

In the case of #2, whoever selected the solution would find themselves in hot water.

TBH I'm not sure why regular users have the option to deselect/change; IMHO they should only really be able to set them.

Best solution

It's very simple:

1. If the thread originator has chosen an answer you leave it alone, period.
2. If you come across an obviously abandoned thread (2 or more months) with no chosen answer you may choose one.
3. If you come across a thread with an answer that is obviously wrong, or a better one exists, you may change it, unless the answer was chosen by the thread originator, in which case you leave it as is.
4. You do not choose an answer in an active thread unless you are the thread originator.

The moderator team is quite good at spotting and dealing with abuse of the BA system, so be very careful with the power.

The 4th point made me clear.. How about badges? I gave an best answer about graphics card and it didn't add to my Graphics best answers, instead it added to challenges completed section.. May I know how earning badges were done?

It needs to have the 'Graphics Cards' tag in blue at the top of the thread, just under the title.

You get the first badge with 5 BAs of the relevant tag, for most badges.

Now I have another doubt.. I went to a thread in which I gave a best solution, it was about monitors and it has no tags.. Now that I see I can add tags to other person's questions too.. What if I have added tags and then answered? Will I get a badge on that tag or the tag should be made by the originator?

Anybody can tag threads.

However, please be sensible about it and don't add more than about 3 badged tags.

Never ! I want to be sure about my knowledge about PC/other hardware, so I never add badges that I don't know of.. Thanks you so much..
