I just got a hold of a new LG 34UM95 monitor with 3440 x 1440 resolution. I want to play games in ultra etc I installed hitman absolution and with everything on ultra with AA on, I get around 23fps.. with AA off I get 40-50. Would it be worth upgrading to a gtx 780 TI and would I get much of a boost?

Intel Core i7 4770K 3.50GHz
Corsair 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 1866MHz Vengeance Pro
EVGA GTX 780 3GB GDDR5 6008MHz
Samsung SSD

I'm an SLI virgin, do you suggest SLI 780?

My room gets hot in summer and I can imagine SLI making it hotter, any solutions to this?

I would do it if you arent satisfied with performance now. If you can wait, the new lineup may offer good cards, and if not, the 780 price will go down.
SLI dosent add THAT much more heat, but it adds enough.

Depending on your motherboard Pci-e configuration, you are looking at 5-15C increase in temp, but you'll have that heat coming from 2 sources, if you already feel like your PC is making your room hot, you will probably notice the additional card. (if your single 780 is going anywhere near 80C under load I wouldn't recommend SLI, you'll be really pushing the thermal limit at that point).

going 780-780ti is $650 for 10%, maybe 12% increase. Sli will be 60-90% increase assuming the SLI profile is good. Word on the street is flagship Maxwell will be ~~30% increase over 780 ti, but that is speculative as heck (based on a leaked 3d mark run).

So it comes down to your budget and patience really, aside from the potential thermal issues. I would wait for Maxwell, but I would SLI before I'd buy a 780 ti, given you have a 780 already.

With AA on, the reason you are dropping frames in because it is using a lot more of your VRAM. I played Absolution on Ultra settings with no problem with my old GTX 780 3GB. Strange you aren't having the same experience. From selling your old card and buying a 780Ti, I dont believe it is worth it if you arent willing to take a significant loss on your potential new purchase. It is best to wait for the next generation of cards or wait until X-Mas season.

I just got the GTX 780 6GB to ensure I can blast everything on max settings. Then again I am using 3 monitors and still can get Ultra settings. (Just a fun fact when using AA settings)
