I am wondering if its possible. I think its possible since they both use the Hawaii chipset inside both of them. Any advice/tips/answers are helpful. Thanks!
Well I think it is possible but it would be a r9 290 crossfire not a r9 290 and 290x crossfire. As in crossfire the stronger gpu will downgrade itself to the level of the weaker gpu.
