Is 58 degrees too hot when playing games?

Hi , I am running an AMD Phenom ii x4 955 BE not o/c with stock heatsink and fan. when playing games like fifa 14 and crysis 3 the cpu hits temps of 58/59 degrees using speedfan whilst the mobo and gpu run around temps of 38/44 respectively.

do i need to replace the heatsink and fan? or is this "normal" ?

Its normal for the stock fan. My 965 hit 63 under load gaming, so I swapped it for a 212 EVO.
Its nothing to worry about, but its a bit warm.

thanks for the replies the stock fan sounds like a hoover when the temp hits 50 and above! it is good to know that people aren't unduly worried about the temp though the chip is about 4/5 years old so perhaps its time to replace the stock fan and sink?

I would replace it. I couldnt stand the stock fan after 4 months so I bought a 212 EVO.

Yeah, get rid of the noisy stock cooler. My Phenom II X4 965BE @ 4.0GHZ wears a 212 EVO too.
