Well the title explains most of it, I've been meaning to upgrading for awhile but I've had to wait on either my birthday or christmas. My birthday just passed and I figured this was the time to get a much needed upgrade to my system. Before I get into specifics, I want to say this ; i DO plan on playing GTA5 when it's released ( if it matters ) COD:AW and Hardline, along with a few more f2p games. However for the past 6 months I've been playing alot of bf4 but my poor graphics have mitigated my gameplay experiance. Here is my setup

AMD HD RADEON 5750

MSI FM2-A75MA-E35 MOBO

Now for my expectations of each card I would like to play BF4 on High settings at 60fps+, from what I heard I have a pretty good cpu, and coupled with Mantle and AMD's dual graphics option Im sure both cards wont have a problem. But where the issue lies between the 7770 and the 7850/70 is their size, amount of wattage needed( this applies to the 270x too ) and the price. Looking for some advice on which card to choose, any thoughts?

I'd recommend a 270X as I'm pretty sure if I can fit an overclocked 4670K and a 7970 onto a 550W PSU then you could easily accomplish your setup on a 450W PSU especially since antec is a solid brand. And as long as you're using a mid tower or bigger sized tower then space shouldn't be a problem

Ohh Ok thanks, but if for some reason I'm unable to get a 270x ( out of stock, overpriced etc. ), Would you recommend a 7770? or a 7850? * I'm not sure what the number for cards mean *

like mentioned above the 270x would be a great card and also MSI makes a mini itx version which is just a fancy way to say shorter. I have that one and love it, it performs better than I had expected. Runs very cool as well for a smaller 1 fan model, always an option if space is an issue being under 7".

I think though the 270x might be a little borderline for those games at 60+fps in 1080p on high. If you have the budget to get a r9 280 that would probably be a better fit to consistently hit 60+fps. If you plan to run higher than x2 AA then the 270x will not cut it at 60+fps, close at x2 and good w/ it off. The 270 is also very well priced right now and almost same performance, but when you get 2 running in crossfire they perform like a r9 290x for a total price of around 300$ for 2 / 270s

If you live in the u.s and can order online that is not an issue.

Here is the short msi one.

if you have the room this is probably the best 270x for the price from sapphire.

This ASUS card is probably the best r9 280 for the price.

They have a few 280s for a little bit less, but if you plan to use the mail in rebate that asus is the best. If you have the room and can afford it get the 280. Even though I love the 270x I got, I wish I was able to fit a 280 in my system because what you get for only 25-40$ more is very much worth it. I had a space issue as well limiting 270x as highest possible card. Of all the cards I have seen in the r9 series the non x version so far has been the better deal being significantly less with 5-10% or less performance difference.

This is a sapphire r9 270 for 139$. If your build allows running in crossfire 2 of those are only 280$ performing similar to 400$+ 290
