So I originally bought the Samsung LS24D590PL/ZC monitor with 5ms response time and have been using it for gaming on my PS4 as well as PC. I am very happy with it and the "Game Mode" seems to really make a difference. I was also looking at the BenQ RL2455HM gaming monitor with a 1ms response time.

My girlfriends foster brother was looking to buy a monitor so I ordered the BenQ and was going to see which one I enjoyed better. I don't really know much about this kind of stuff hence me asking for help from the experts.

Which monitor, spec wise, seems to be the better overall monitor? Would I even notice the response time difference between the 5ms and 1ms? Also, anything else you could tell me about these monitors would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advanced

My only issue is that after reading some of the reviews online, I get the feeling that the monitor loses some of the image quality to make up for the 1ms response time.

That's how it works, faster response is generally balanced out by a bit worse image quality. Nothing hysterical, but it means worse viewing angles and such.

Do you feel that the 1ms response time is worth giving up some of the picture quality? OR would I even notice a difference between the 5ms and 1ms?

Thanks again

Depends on your tastes... if you play a lot of fast action games, it might be visible, I'd try to hit a sweetspot with 2-4MS.
