Hi guys,
I'm here trying to finalize my first solo build. I've done one before with the help of a friend but this time I'm turning to hardware forums for help. My last bit of researching involves picking out a keyboard, mouse, and monitor. Please give me your criticism or approval. As for budget I've got the money but I tend to be play with it frugally. $1500 seems like a reasonable budget for now. I'm not going for the best build but I do want to reward myself with something comfortable for gaming using money I saved up for so long. What do you guys think?

first your Ram .. always double channel ... 2x8= 16 is good to start about $120-150
Video editing use lot of mem... have option to add more latter

your video card... i suggest you get the GTX 780 6gig only $100 more ( new and much better for your editing)

PSU get at least 750 or more gtx780 i think need like 500 already

in video editing need more HHD ... i suggest at least 2tb for about $20 more. (maybe even bigger)
everything else looking good

First of all thanks for you reply. Now, video editing is pretty much an after thought for now. I'm not going to dish out money for Sony Vegas anytime soon or whatever else is popular. I just want a build that can handle it in the future. I of course am trying to build something comfortable for any modern video gaming.

Most likely for
Skyrim (with mods)
GTA 4
GTA 5 (when it comes out)
Bioshock Infinite
Battlefield 4 or 3
(probably) Watch_Dogs (free with video card)

all at ultra.

As for the reason I'm shy of buying a lot of storage: I already have a 500gb external hdd and my steam library is only 30 something games. I'll keep my favorites on the ssd and the rest on the digital western.

Do you think 6gb vram is necessary for any type of gaming?

PSU seems like something I should change though.

Is it real important to double channel even if I'm holding off on the video editing until further notice? Like is one 8gb stick particularly bad for gaming?

i just read the review on it gtx6gig .. and they are for sure will handle all your game in MAX.
google it and read 6 gig do make different . and also it about the same price. i heard that few people call video card comp and they upgrade for $20 more to 6gig

yes always double ... 2 stick of ram .... NEVER 1.. that a no no .. you can get 2x4 ... but i suggest you get 2x8=16 ...
use all 4 ram slot is always tricky ... the motherboard have to work harder on 4 stick of ram.
