CPU benchmark crashing pc

Hi all I've built myself an AMD gaming rig and after trying to oc it (which failed before the end of the first pass)! whenever i'm using the pc it will hang for about 2 to 3 minutes, (google Chrome with nothing else open) also I tried benchmarking the CPU and the computer freezes?! can anyone shed any light on this for me pleaseeeeee?? would be eternally grateful

there really isnt a motherboard that supports thoses chips besides the max fourmla v and i think the sabertooth, anyways the overclock on that chip isnt good just use the turbo and get 5ghz the max oc on most of those is like 5.2-5.3 on custom waterloop

msi need to update their website it is supported... it worked well until i tried oc'ing i dont think it's a compatability issue with mobo but i have been known to be wrong... thanks though

bottomline is your not going to get a overclock use you have a better board, well pretty much the best board the formlua v is the only board you might get a overclock. Just use the turbo that is 5ghz, if you want more than 5ghz get a 8350, or a 8320. they are all the same chip set

Ok so as per question why am I getting hangs and freezes? Just played wolfenstein and it works play titanfall triple screen and only at the end of the game does it sometimes freeze.. Use the PC for browsing and it's every 5 to 10 mins?! Thanks for ur responses

so is it hanging up and freezing while stock or OC. if OC then its not stable. if stock i would go back into the bios and make sure everything is default again.

stock... the oc wouldnt work... and bios has been reset to default?? :/

not the bios just go in there and make sure your mult and voltage is on default and everything is still freezing on stock then it might be your ram

ok.. i memtest 86'd the ram last night with no errors... literally froze a second ago for a minute and all im doing is google?! will look in the bios now

question how long have you had this build and when did it start messing up

the setting you should in bbios the mult and everythingou touched in the bios when you overclcoked if you type in 0 it should go to auto, i know in my bios when i can change everything back to default with a click of a button

cause if you go to the msi webb site your motherboard doesnt support 2400mhz ram the highest is 2133ram

you'll have to go in to the bios and adjust your ram freq to underclock it and make sure

i havent used that motherboard so i dont know excatly what the bios looks like also before it crashes can you here any type of whinning coming from the psu. try and go back to the desktop and run something intense and see if the psu makes noise
