HDD replacement for Lenovo Y580 gaming laptop

I have to replace the hard drive for my Lenovo Y580.

Will this hdd work fine?

no it needs to have a z height of 7mm while the red drive in the link has 9.5mm. its form factor is 2.5in which is what u need.

No, I do not. I don't think I'll be able to without taking it out.

Sure you can. In device manager, you would click on disk drives.
