Any body have a clue what this old thing is

I have no clue where I should post it so I hope Im not on the wrong forum or wrong section

I recently received a couple of old computers and speakers and things from a someone I know. anyways one of the items I have no clue what it is. It almost looks like some kind of phone server built into a computer case. It has AT&T written on the the front and on the tag on the bottom

If anyone one has a clue what this is and what its used for please let me know

Try to pick up those IDE cables so we can see the mobo better.
Also, does it have a Hard Drive? Or is that a CD-R in the drive cage?

I tore the thing apart and found no HDD if you want I can post pics of the Mobo but I believe it was just used to wire a phone system for a some kind of business a while ago it was very old
