Hi, i've been looking at these 2 cards and am not sure which one peforms better, it would be nice if someone could help me pick!?

They are the MSI R9 280X GAMING 3GB and the SAPPHIRE TOXIC R9 270X 2GB

The R9 280x is way better than R9 270x.. The 270x is a mid-range card the 280x is mid-high range card, very close to high end.. Blindly, the R9 280x will perform much better..

Now, if you could get the R9 280X Toxic, that would be great, since that`s about the best aftermarket model.

And I for one would avoid the MSI cards for the R9 280X, as I noticed in two different noise tests that it has coil whine.

Thanks for the info, now that you mentioned the coil whine i'm not to sure about the MSI, is it bearable though?

If MSI (of that particular card) is not good, go for other AMD makes like, sapphire, Asus, etc.. there will be some product at the same price..

I for one am recommending the Sapphire R9 280X Toxic.
If not that, the Asus R9 280x DCUII Top, of Matrix Platinum.
Just keep in mind that the Matrix is a very wide and fat (3 slots) card.

Yes, choose wisely so that the card will fit in your case.. The Sapphire toxic R9 280x will perform better than the ASUS version, because the sapphire has the card's core/memory clock boosted up to 1100/1150 MHz..
