It is high end aluminium case. The material is quite expensive. Is is sensible? Is Ferrari sensible as an car... probably not, but this case is more meaningful as a case than Ferrari is as an car ;-)Maybe people getting into building computers now are spoiled, but a monolithic black aluminum case for $500 just seems like a joke now, Lian-Li or no. Not to compare apples to oranges, but a 900D is $320 has room for nine HDD's AND comes with a window (Seriously $70 extra for a piece of acrylic? I'd sooner take my Dremel out and get to work).
I don't know, Lian-Li has it's clientele, and they're built like tanks, but how much demand is there for something at this price point (that's an honest question, not trying to be dismissive)? Maybe I'm just underestimating the market share of seriously high end workstations.

You are right in there... Not many! I personally own much cheaper Antec P180 and even that is not a economy case... So this one is for quite small minority. Like I allso think that there are not so many people who own Nvidia Titanium black edition GPUs, but there allways is someone who has enough money to make things differently!

This is a little outrageous considering that it's not anything particularly special... just a fairly modular aluminum full tower. I've had a couple of Lian Li's in the past, and I wouldn't say their build quality is as good as something like a high end Silverstone. My TJ07 has had a few different sets of guts in it at this point and is still flawless. It was also $300 and is built like a tank.
Not that I'm against investing in something super functional that you love enough to keep for years as a base for many builds, but this thing doesn't really say "unique". Just a black box.... Maybe I'm biased but at least the TJ07 is somewhat different, with the single piece body and such :-p

Seriously? $500 dollars? I don't care if it's made from the same aluminum that carried the Space Shuttle on its last mission to the space station. Honestly Corsair makes better products in my opinion anyway. And their customer service is among the best I have ever personally dealt with. I'd much rather have a $300 900D with considerably more customization options.
